…….demand respect for rotational policy
The Iworoko community have vowed not to support a non-performing house of Assembly member for a second term in office until the rotational policy of constituency two in Irepodun-Ifelodun local government of the state is respected. This is an unconstrained reaction to the protest that rocked the state secretariat of the APC in Ado-Ekiti over the alleged imposition of the incumbent member of the state house of Assembly, Hon. Hakeem Jamiu.
Speaking at the palace, the youths and the traditional chiefs of the town asked that the house of Assembly ticket be given to the son of the town owing to the underwhelming performance of the incumbent member representing the constituency. The community further reiterates that the alleged breach of the rotational policy over the act of imposition is an act tantamount to defying the entrenched policy in the constituency that has eleven (11) communities with crown Obas.

A prominent youth of the town, Mr. Abiodun Adesemo berated the act of imposition and further asked that the community be given a trial in the fair share of things. “Igbemo, where the current deputy speaker hails from have done it more than five times, we should be allow to have our fair share owing to the population, taxes and rates collected in Iworoko. We have the voters turnout, a whooping 15,000 registered voters which is the second largest in the entire state and first in the local Government where people from other wards benefits.” he said.
Another prominent traditional chief who spokeon behalf of the Alaworoko in council, High Chief Ololudo lamented the poor recognition given to Iworoko EKiti, he said they are hoping that the Governor Fayemi Government would compensate them with the assembly due to the lack of political appointments in the community. “We have not been happy with the appointments given to our children, they all look like a consolable appointments. Presently, we have three of our noble sons contesting the seat and we believe whoever emerge among them is acceptable to us as a community. We are hoping the government would give us the assembly ticket so we can continue to stand with Biodun Oyebanji and JKF. We pray and hope the APC would not be put to shame because elders don’t curse, we hope they make worthy corrections to stop imposition of Assembly members and allow us in the constituency have our son as the candidate for Fairness and Equity sake.” Chief Ololudo said.
